Tornio

Port of Tornio is a northern deep‑water cargo port specializing in large‑scale industrial logistics. Handling around three million tons of cargo annually, it supports year‑round operations thanks to icebreaker assistance and serves as a key export hub for stainless steel and ferrochrome from the adjacent Outokumpu steelworks. With an approach depth of nine meters, eight berths, and a 120‑meter‑wide fairway, the port efficiently manages both import and export flows including recycled steel, coke, limestone, and natural gas, making it one of Finland’s busiest industrial ports.
