Award-winning Botnia Enabler & Baltic Enabler

During the Ferry Shipping Summit 2022, WALLENIUS SOL received the RoRo vessel of the Year award for its sister ships Botnia Enabler and Baltic Enabler.
One week after the delivery of the record-breaking vessel, Botnia Enabler, Ragnar Johansson, Managing Director of WALLENIUS SOL and Christian Damsgaard, Senior Naval Architect KNUD E. HANSEN received the RoRo vessel of the Year award for the newbuildings Botnia Enabler and Baltic Enabler. The award was presented at this year's edition of the Ferry Shipping Summit, which took place in Malmö, Sweden on 19 May 2022.

“We are very proud and of course flattered to be appreciated for our efforts to produce vessels which are as environmentally friendly as possible. We hope that these two vessels will benefit our customers for many years to come,” says Ragnar Johansson
Botnia Enabler & Baltic Enabler are the world's largest ice-classed multi fuel ConRo vessels. The ships are 242 meters long with a beam of 35.2 meters, have the highest Finnish-Swedish ice class and are significantly more energy efficient per transported unit than older vessels.
Another detail that impressed the jury was WALLENIUS SOL's transport concept.
“Most RoRo ships do A to B. WALLENIUS SOL call several different ports of the Gulf of Bothnia and all the way down to central Europe. The management of the whole cargo-system is quite impressing, ” says Mike Louagie, Ferry Shippping Summit.
