Telling a shipping customer to 'lighten the load' might seem odd, especially when our business revolves around moving your cargo (don’t worry, your shipment is in good hands!). But in this case, we’re talking about lightening our impact on the planet, without compromising the reliability and efficiency of our shipments.
To reduce emissions and meet growing customer demands, we are transitioning to renewable fuels. Through continuously improving, we are proud to offer Liquefied Biogas (LBG) in our transports.
When you book a transport with WALLENIUS SOL, you have a choice. You can purchase the full amount of biogas (LBG) to cover your freight's consumption, or opt for a percentage share. The more LBG you buy the more we add. It’s simple math.
How much do you want to lighten the load?
STEP 1
Select the proportion of LBG relative to your transport's fuel consumption. Purchase 10%, 25%, 50%, 75% or 100% to be incorporated into the fuel mix.
STEP 2
The amount of biogas you purchase is taken from our supplier Gasum. Once liquefied, it’s mixed with LNG and used in our freight.
STEP 3
When you choose LBG for your transports, WALLENIUS SOL uses an ISCC-certified product that meets strict sustainability and traceability standards. This not only helps reduce your carbon footprint but also lowers your ETS costs.
ISCC certification goes beyond the legal requirements of RED II as it covers additional ecological and social requirements. The certified input has replaced fossil fuels at the beginning of the supply chain and at the same time made it possible for customers to make a deduction on the ETS, which has been applied to the freight since January 1, 2024. Liquid biogas (LBG) is a renewable fuel produced from organic waste. LBG replaces fossil fuels and reduces life cycle CO2 emissions by up to 90% compared to liquefied natural gas (LNG). Read more about LBG at Gasum.
